I fully expect every single one of you reading this to have played indie tear-jerker To The Moon. If not then you now have at least an hour’s worth of gaming to do. Get to it. For the rest of you, Kan Gao of Freebird Games has announced the next game in TTM‘s universe, A Bird Story. Might want to get those tissues ready, just in case.
Now this isn’t strictly To The Moon 2; while it is set in the same universe, A Bird Story is chronologically an earlier story. The protagonist does appear in the proper sequel, so I suppose this could be considered as a bridge of sorts.
“A Bird Story is a simple, surreal short about a boy and a bird with a broken wing. Despite being story-based like most of my games, there are essentially no dialogues throughout.”
And that is honestly surprising. I suppose it’ll mostly be a monologue instead, since you can’t really talk with birds. If I remember correctly, To The Moon had no fantasy elements as well, dreams aside.
There’s not much else to say for now but I’m not complaining. The less we know the better, otherwise it’ll simply spoil the experience. The official site has the title theme and some pieces of art if you fancy.
